ID cards for all NYC residents

Your IDNYC card is a broadly accepted, official form of identification. IDNYC is accepted:

Museums and Cultural Institutions

With your IDNYC Card you are eligible for a one-year free membership package at 33 of the City’s leading cultural institutions, including world class museums, performing arts centers, concert halls, botanical gardens, and zoos in all five boroughs. These membership packages are comparable to each institution’s standard one-year membership package and will give IDNYC card holders a range of benefits including free or discounted admission, access to special events, and discounts to museum shops and neighborhood businesses.

Libraries

You will be able to use your IDNYC card at any public library in New York. The card can be integrated with your account at the New York, Brooklyn, and Queens Public Library Systems. This is the first time a single card will be accepted across all three systems. To use your IDNYC card at a library, ask a librarian or a library clerk at your local branch to connect your IDNYC card with your library account or sign up for a new library account and use your IDNYC card as your library card.

Banks and Credit Unions

With your new IDNYC Card, you will be able to open a bank or credit account at more than a dozen financial institutions across New York City. A common barrier to accessing mainstream financial services, where you can safely keep your money, has been eliminated with the IDNYC card.

Entertainment Discounts

The IDNYC card offers you exclusive discounts on movie tickets, Broadway shows, sporting events, theme parks, and more. Movie tickets with your IDNYC card can be as low as $8.00. To get these great discounts, you simply need the unique ID number on the front of your IDNYC card and your email address. Prescription Drug Discounts

BigAppleRx is the City of New York’s official prescription drug discount card, and now you can access discounts with your IDNYC card. At 95% of pharmacies across New York City, you can simply show the BIN and GRP on the back of your IDNYC card to a pharmacist to receive discounts on your prescription medication.

Fitness and Health Centers

These benefits will help you lead an active and healthy lifestyle.

New York City Parks Department – You receive a 10% discount off annual NYC Parks Recreation Center membership for adults age 25-61. This is available at any of Parks’ 35 neighborhood recreation centers. To get this discounts, just show your IDNYC card at the Recreation Center desk. You can also receive a 10% discount on NYC Parks Department tennis permits at the designated Parks location in each borough.

YMCA – With your IDNYC card, you will receive access to Y Roads young adult and centers and New Americans Welcome Centers. You will also receive 20% off of family memberships at all 22 YMCA centers citywide. To get these discounts, just show your IDNYC card at the desk.

New York Sports Club – Your IDNYC card will offer you a free 30-day trial and a 45-minute Fitness Evaluation with a certified trainer at all New York Sports Club locations. Supermarket Discounts at Food Bazaar

You will receive a 5% discount off all purchases at Food Bazaar supermarkets in New York City on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Some exclusions apply. To get the discount, simply show your IDNYC card at checkout.

New York City Attractions with New York Pass

New York Pass is a citywide pass to 83 tourist attractions in all five boroughs. With your IDNYC card, you will receive a 25% discount. You can skip the lines with a 1, 2, 3, 5, or 7 day pass.
