Welcome Back Center: Resource for Immigrant Medical ProfessionalsPosted: February 9, 2015
What is the New York City Welcome Back Center?
New York City is one of the most diverse cities in the United States, and the demand for internationally trained healthcare professionals who are culturally and linguistically diverse and competent is high.
The New York City Welcome Back Center can help you understand the New York State licensing process and walk you through the steps needed to work in your healthcare profession again. The Center can also help you explore alternative careers in healthcare to pursue while you are on the path towards licensure.
The NYC Welcome Back Center offers licensure guidance for the following professions:
• Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Vocational Registered Nurses
• Social Workers
The New York City Welcome Back Center, located within the Center for Immigrant Education and Training at LaGuardia Community College, helps internationally trained healthcare professionals enter the healthcare profession in New York State either in their original career or through an alternative career in healthcare.
Our mission is to build a bridge between the need for culturally and linguistically diverse healthcare professionals and the untapped resource of immigrants trained in a field of health in their country of origin who reside in the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut).
